The Beautiful Poolside Bungalow was nice, but the noise was tough to handle.

As a solo traveller, I felt very secure. The staff were friendly and helpful, offering good advice about trips. I was made very welcome as were my family when they visited.
The bar and restaurant did not open in the evening.

Loved the beachfront location. Just a few steps from the room to the beach with beautiful private chairs to relax in. The Superior Beach Front Bungalow was fantastic, with a lovely bathroom and a cozy sitting area. I enjoyed my listen to the live music at the restaurant, and the food was up to the European high standards, especially the avocado toast for breakfast. Staff members seemed dedicated to maintaining cleanliness. Our room was always tidy when we returned from meals. The pool was on the smaller side, so it's not ideal for serious swimmers. Some noise from the nearby restaurant late at night was disruptive to the quiet atmosphere we had expected. Despite this, I appreciated the laid-back and friendly vibe of the place. I would definitely recommend it for its charm and proximity to both beach and local nightlife, but be prepared for possible evening noise.

Absolutely outstanding service. Great location on a quite clean beach. In the 3 days I was there, I never saw more than 6 people on the beach as far a could see. Fairly close to the airport. I would stay there again
The bed was very uncomfortable. I guess the Thai standard bed is nothing more than a box spring and 2 sheets. The bungalow had 1 room a/c in the bedroom. The "attached" bathroom was good for storage but very basic. The living room was not airconditioned. The tv was in the living room. The wood floors were nice. The room key operated the room electricity. When you take the key you remove the electricity. Therefore the room was always hot when you came back and took a while to cool down.

garden ambience, beachside bungalows, vibrant natural setting
The reception not open by 8:00 on a Saturday is quite frustrating!!! Room noise levels from the outside can detract from relaxation, especially near the bin area!!! More attention to cleanliness of outdoor bins would be appreciated!!!

John & his team are the friendliest people I have met who have the true nature of running a hotel at heart. They care about the comfort & well being of your trip, giving you advice as to what not to miss & how best to go about booking it. Excellent food (definitely try the pad Thai!) and great ambiance. If ever in koh Samui I would return without hesitation.
Beds were a bit spingy but some people like that! Excellent use of space.

Owner Jon very helpful and friendly, location was peaceful and close to facilities. Pick up arranged from ferry.
Air conditioner in room 3 not adjustable...stuck on cold and and a little noisy. On shore winds blow through with no where to hide and resturaunt prices on the high side for the area.

The beach location was perfect for lazy days and fun water sports. We enjoyed island tours, diving trips, and the vibrant nightlife just fifteen minutes away. Don't miss trying their delicious duck red curry at the restaurant! Friendly super nice team too.
The noise from the nearby road and bars was a bit distracting, especially at night. It was nice.

The staff was amazing! Cannot stress how kind, thoughtful and helpful staff members were. The location and setting were idyllic. Rooms were spacious, clean and good value for money. Also, food was very good.
The owner was only problem. John took over several months ago. Initially seemed very nice. However, overheard many condescending remarks to staff. When asked for referal for local food sent us to overpriced European restaurants. He recommended a cooking class, quoted us a price (we repeated it twice to make sure), and it turned out class was actually twice as much. He blamed on his 'poor' English. Finally, last evening there we told him we would be checking out by noon (posted check out time), asked if he wanted us to pay bill then, he said we could pay in morning. Then at 9:30pm were awoken with demand to come to front desk and pay. We again confirmed we would check out before noon next day. Next day we took a scooter ride and returned at 11am to shower and prepare for departure only to find all our belongings had been removed from the room and left on a cart outside, unsecured. John was nowhere to be found and only explanation was that he had rented it to another party (who had been allowed in to view the room while our belongings were still in it) and staff instructed to clean it even though we still had a full hour before check out time.

Secret Garden Bungalows is set on a divine beach, plus it's really funky! Big cost couches, orange beach towels to use, padded recliners..DVD player in your (huge room.. Well the sitting room next to your bedroom..so much space!) Staff are lovely. It's well priced and welcoming and I'd recommend it!
being picky! My bed was a little hard but I know that's an individual thing. The bar plays music which is fab; nice ambience... But not at 2 am when you're trying to sleep! It wasnt until that late every night tho :)

I had such a lovely time relaxing by the pool and soaking up the sun on the beach loungers. The live music on Fridays added to the fun vibe, and I enjoyed a nice massage in the garden area too. The room was a bit on the noisy side at times, but it didn't ruin our experience. just a little tip, choose a bungalow closer to the pool if you're sensitive to sounds. 😊

I loved the individual beach bungalows - they were so clean even despite the fact that the bathroom was open air. I loved that you could hear the waves on the beach while lying in bed. Excellent location for Fisherman's Village which had excellent restaurants shops and bars aswell as really close distance to Maenam for beautiful beach and Chaweng for busier night life. Very peaceful at night. Close to ferry for day boat trips to other islands. We would definitely recommend this accomodation as it is excellent value for money.
The breakfast size was a bit small for my husband!! The bathroom towels could probably be replaced as they were a bit thin and worn. Other than that, no complaints at all!
